Shakespeare in Hollywood
Check out 48.05 onwards - Professor Morbius's speech: 'In times long past' etc. There are chunks of this monologue that - if not actually written in iambic pentameter - sound as though they are. It's wonderful to know that writers this good once worked in Hollywood and brought their love of Shakespearean verse into a blockbuster sci-fi movie. What a wonderful legacy to leave.

Quick change of clothes
I absolutely adore this film.
However I am surprised that Alta had time to change her clothes during the last few minutes...
At 1:22:13 she is wearing a soft draped, backless, decolté, belted dress, with her breasts almost showing. (Quite daring for 1956).
At 1:19:25 same dress and no shoes.
At 1:29:46 new grey dress, high neckline, no belt.
At 1:31:15 she has had time to put on her shoes, before running to her father who is about to die.
Just love the continuity girl/guy.

Shakespeare In Space
Classic sci fi version of "The Tempest" (and a major influence on Gene Roddenberry and Star Trek). The crew of starship C57D land on a planet inhabited only by Doctor Morbius, his daughter Altaira, and their robot, the famed Robbie. The captain soon discovers a dark secret about the ancient alien civilization that Morbius has been studying and the creature that wiped out the original colony.
